Catching a glimpse of the civilisation in 300-400 years: All technical obstacles brushed aside,
the traveller in space-time, Giorgos Stefanou, may find himself in a renaissance of ethics that
value humans and their creative achievements higher than its revenue on the financial market.
Solely driven by the hope of raising the treasure of a cultural evolution, the destination remains
unknown and the quest may last another hundred years or more. The drift into the unknown continues,
passing nebulas, red giants, white dwarfs, pulsars, black holes and white masses of light. Contact
signals are sent out without being returned, at least for the time being, calculating the likelihood
of alien encounters.
Travelling in Space-Time leaves the acoustic impression of a sci-fi visualisation in two
movements, reflecting the basic theme vocabulary and highlighting different aspects of Giorgos
Stefanou's vision. As a sign of continuity, spectromorphological mutations will keep the basic idea
as a whole, whilst signatures and traits will be modified with form and function complementing
masses and proportions. There is no plot with a happy ending though: Rather, the outcome is left
undefined and the sudden final emphasises the unreal aspect of this vision. Travelling in Space-Time
is a demanding but also rewarding work to listen to and certainly one of Giorgos Stefanou finest
works so far.
