What would you expect from an album called Octahedron that does not mention any Platonic solid at all? Perhaps the question itself is
fallacious as it implies that an album title or its depiction in the form of artwork and all the remaining components have to be tied
together by the title's associated meaning. Like music, words have a specific ring and rhythm of their own no matter whether they make
sense or not. Therefore it seems perfectly legitimate to use a word just because it fits to a particular idea of sound. After all, one
of the basic principle in the world of electroacoustic music is to remove a sound from its original context, so it can stand for itself
and be heard as what it actually is.
Since Fosel aka. Kurt Nimmo released his first album on Petcord one year ago, his musical language has become more complex with a higher degree of abstraction. Using both his analogue synthesiser gear and digital software emulations simultaneously, he manages to squeeze out unusual timbres and eerie patches from a remote intergalactic civilisation without repeating himself. Each piece of work are distinct entities, crystalline structures with unique shapes and forms and yet representing the remoteness of sound characteristic of Fosel. With more details to work out comes a longer playtime and sometimes unexpected turns, something I'd like to call fractal soundscapes, because they branch out in a similar vein and yet turn out differently.

The release is available as both single mp3 download and entire package including artwork. Some browsers may automatically play the file rather than offering a dialogue what to do with the latter, so in this case downloads may not be that straight forward. In case your favourite browser happens to exhibit exactly that behaviour, simply right click the link, and then a context menu should appear that offers something like "Save as" or "Save location as".
