Sleeping on Lotus Ashes is Sebastian Prelar's mobile sound laboratory which carefully examines experimental, acousmatic and electroacoustic music derived
from mangled field recordings and self oscillating sound artifacts of all kinds. This principle of crushing and transforming soundbits so they gain a new
identity within a new context led to the album title "Crushed Identity". There are some resemblences inherent to the tape splicing work of
Musique Concrète with a high degree of abstraction. The modus operandi is a machine driven orchestration as a sequence of related events, like a story
play without a line of text to add. Crude fragments rush in with a vengeance, creating a whirlpool of dynamics with little opportunities for a sign of
relief, though there is a considerate degree of variation in the pieces. "Myoelectric Prosthetic Scabs" even resembles a feedback based, multilayered
drone, though not entirely abandoning the rhythmic layers of clicks and cuts.
